Today’s proceedings against Mayor Rudy Giuliani represented yet another stark example of the growing abuse of our judicial system to target political opponents. As a legal analyst and advocate for election integrity, I am appalled by what transpired in the courtroom.
Mayor Giuliani, America’s Mayor and a staunch defender of our constitutional principles, endured hours of testimony on Friday and again today. Yet, before the final gavel fell, the presiding judge—an entrenched New York Democrat—presented a pre-drafted opinion, fully cited and written long before the Mayor or his counsel had concluded their presentations. This blatant disregard for due process underscores the two-tiered justice system that has become all too common.
The conduct of this judge goes beyond mere bias; it reveals an entrenched partisanship that undermines the integrity of our legal institutions. Rather than considering the arguments presented in court, the judge’s predetermined decision was a chilling reminder that lawfare has now supplanted legitimate legal proceedings.
This case, brought by Hunter Biden’s former law partner Michael Gottlieb, is yet another cog in the Biden-aligned lawfare machine. Gottlieb’s connections to Ukrainian corruption through Burisma and his active fundraising for organizations targeting President Trump’s allies highlight the coordinated effort to weaponize the courts against political adversaries.
Such tactics are not only unjust but also dangerous. They erode public confidence in our legal system and set a precedent that threatens the foundational principles of fairness and impartiality. If this trend continues unchecked, it will have long-term consequences for all Americans, regardless of their political beliefs.
Mayor Giuliani’s unwavering commitment to the truth and to fighting for justice is a testament to his character and his enduring love for this country. I stand with him and urge all Americans to recognize the dangers of this escalating lawfare campaign. It is not just about Mayor Giuliani—it is about preserving the rule of law in America.
